Summary of a long rattling icy week.

It's something like-15° here and it's time for a sauna.

These images are scanned from one of my all-time favorites Fairburn System: The Fairburn System of Visual References. I occasionally pick them up on ebaby, I'll acquire the whole set someday.

We start back to school on Monday——break seemed shorter this year. BUT, in 15 weeks I will officially be on sabbatical! then lot's of time for making and searching.

I just updated another set of uncut matchbook sheets to the wonderful world of flickr.

I'm not much of a cook but when I do cook this is what I bake. I've convinced myself that they are healthy for every meal.
Rangers eat them——they've got to be good!

"Ranger Cookies"
In large bowl mix the following ingredients together. Stir well till butter is integrated.
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar (I like the dark brown kind)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
---------
now add to the bowl:
2 cups white flour
2 cups oats
1 cup coconut
2 cups rice krispies or corn flakes
---------
I don't care for chocolate, but i hear it's a great addition.

bake 9-10 minutes at 350 degrees

YUM!

We've had a family-filled and snowy December. Passing time making and knitting, with interludes of cocktails and shoveling.

Check out these wallpapers found in our very own, Minneapolis College of Art and Design's cafeteria! Recently, I asked my Intro to Graphic Design students to engage with their local environment & beautify it. Their wallpaper patterns had to address subject matter, narrative, sequence, scale and image
quality——they definitely rose to the task; each of them created 6ft strips of amazing pattern!

Powderhorn Empty Bowls: One of my favorite events of the year and one that i'm involved with on many levels. If you're in the Minneapolis area you've got to attend. Here's the jist: select from a amazing array of handmade bowls made by local artists and craftspeople, fill with hearty homemade soup/bread, meet your neighbors + make a freewill contribution (you get to keep your bowl)! Donations support the foodshelf at the Division of Indian Work, Sister's Camelot and upgrading Powderhorn Park RecCenter's kitchen. So many levels of awesomeness! i'd love to see you there.
