patches

I found this great wool scouting coat a number of years back at a thrift store——it belonged to a person named TRUMBULL (I love the handmade bull patch). I could never let something like this go.

Plus a number of patches from my sewing box.

suits

I'm in the mood to swim, preferably in the sea, but our local lakes will have to do for the majority of the summer. This photo of Lake Calhoun is from 1915 taken by CJ Hibbard.

The Jantzen yellow suit is amazing but an awkward swimmer—too much soggy wool for my taste. My new stripe suit is of brushed cotton and fits me to a tee. It was generous and grand birthday present from my sister's beau—— Jay. It was his grandmothers and hand-sewn. I'd really like to fashion this gem.

a sunny friday

spending this really sunny day with my kiddo!
this is some of what we've been up to:
peering into drainholes, wishing water out of fountains, walking around finding great 'scrappy logos and catnaps.
