I love pickles and I'd love to live in this 16 foot Pickle Barrell! The structure has recently been restored and is now on the National Register of Historic Places. William Donahey—a cartoonist—had the cottage built for his wife to inspire their creative endeavors––it's now a museum.
Lucky us! We found the best cabin in Michigan on Lake Michigan, the sweet cabin sat on a hill aside a stream––we had to cross an bridge to get to it. Balsams Resort was established in 1927 and is perfectly buggy, woody and made to last. The cabin's craftsmanship made me nuts––scalloped edges, stone fireplace, yellow trim, big wood!
it's true——this modest shoppe does have the world's best cake donut (according to Jen!). You must visit if you're in Grand Marais to mark yourself off the domestic or international visitors board. Lot's of fun and games to be had here.
A photo taken in Lyme Regis,(UK). I love these slopey seafront towns. Just feeling a bit landlocked here in Minnesota and am certainly ready for a vacation.
very belated photos coming your way. it was a great spring day---spent with good friends Beth & Erik, Kelly & Dan and of course Jen and Jay. goes down in history for the longest and best mayday to date!
